  1. in addition to anchoring the plants roots perform two other vital functions.first ;they absorb water and salts from soil.second;they provide conducting tissues for the transporting of these substances to the the tissues of stem. the conducting tissues xylem and phloem are grouped together in a center and form a rod shaped core .this rod extends throughout the length of root.outside the conducting tissues ,there is a narrow layer of thin-walled cells called pericycle. A single layer of cells i.e Endodermis surrounds this pericycle .

    External to this there is broad zone of "CORTEX".
    IT CONSIST OF LARGE AND THiN_WALLED CELLS..cortex is bounded on outside by single layer of EPIDERMAL cells.

    Root haiors also have cluster of tiny haires which are actuaaly the extensions of epidermal cells.

    When I searched about transportation in plants
    Most of the videos are boring
    But at last my mind said let's watch this 😁

  4. The animations are very beautiful and clear! Though, there is one thing that is not very explicit in this video is that the plant xylem is made of multiple vessels and each individual vessel has end walls (containing pit membranes). Within each xylem conduit, there is no end wall between vessel elements (individual dead cells). But overall, this video is very nicely done!

  5. It is quite incredible how there was so much good information in just a 2 & 1/2 min video. I especially found it useful when you mentioned how vascular bundles are found towards the outer edge in the stem to resist being squished/bent, while vascular bundles in roots are found in the center, in part, to resist pulling and the unearthing of the plant. I was aware that was how they were arranged, I just never knew exactly why. Great video!
